Rely and Rest

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV

When life feels so out of control
It really starts to take a toll
You fret and fear one day to the next
When all God wants for you is rest

Let the God of the universe take the reigns
Stop pulling and fighting with no ground to gain 
Take those white knuckled hands off the wheel
And stop reacting to only how you feel

Choose to believe that God knows the way
Let him steer and guide from night to day
And when fear creeps in, denounce its lies
God is in control…the All-Knowing and Wise! 
 
So even when the road is quite scary
And you are nothing but very worried and wary
Remember that He loves and cares about you
He won't steer you wrong but you need to choose

Choose to believe you can rely on Him
God's working things out, using everything
And the journey will build the faith that you need
So you can let go and just let God lead

It is time to release your need for control
God wants peace for your weary soul
Pray that He will always direct each step
And with each step in faith, you will find rest.
