Hope and Rest

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

Psalms 62:5 NIV

Where does my hope come from?
Where is my hope found?
Is it found in the present circumstance?
Or in what's true and sound?

Where do I find peace?
Where do I find rest?
Is it found in relying on myself?
Or in God who knows best?

Do I only rest when all is well?
Or can I rest amidst the storm?
Is my hope so fragile that it flees
When I start to feel forlorn?

When life has dealt endless blows
And I'm more than beaten down
Where is my faith and hope placed
Other than the Righteous Crown?

There is no other who is so constant
No one so faithful and true
That He took upon the cross
To show His love for you

Reach out to the hand that's always there
Believe and trust and hope
He'll get you through and pull you up
When you're at the end of your rope

He's more than faithful, more than able
To work things out for your good
So give all your cares over to Him
And let it be understood…

He's our Fortress and Refuge
Our Redeemer and King
The Mighty Ruler over everything
A Waymaker and Healer
The Most Faithful Friend
Keeper of Promises
The Beginning and End

Put your faith in Him
Don't despair or fret
He's not done with your story
He's your Hope and Rest.
