Powerful Prayer

Prayer is not an ineffective thing
It is our way to converse with the Almighty King
There is so much power in a prayer
And when we lay down our every care

But people diminish the strength of prayer
And don't think it will change what's here or there
Society views prayer as for the weak
Like it's only mere words said by the meek

The truth is that prayer is a powerful tool
To commune with the Creator and the One who rules
To ask in faith for what He can do
And know that He listens and cares for you

We're called to pray about anything
To God himself we are told to bring…
Our worries, fears, asks, and cares
All to him we can bring in prayer

I've seen how God has answered prayers
He's heard my cries and my heartfelt shares
He knows our hearts and wants to bear…
The burdens we carry so they're no longer there.

We can pray in groans and pray in whispers
Pray on our own or with our brothers and sisters
However we pray, know that without a doubt
Our prayers can move mountains
God CAN work things out!

He can work things out for our overall good
He will answer our prayers as He deems He should
So let's boldly go to our God in prayer
He wants to hear us and will always be there.
