Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with jubilation; Come before Him with rejoicing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courtyards with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting And His faithfulness is to all generations.
Walk around any city and you can see how much humankind has built and made in this world. It’s overwhelming at times. I can’t even fathom how AI works and marvel at how technology has advanced even in my own lifetime (I still remember using rotary phones). It can be so easy to believe that with everything we have done on earth, that there is no need to believe in God. Pride can take over and humans can feel like God is just a nice thought or something to believe when it is convenient.
But how mistaken we are when we do not acknowledge that we and our mere existence would not be possible without our Creator. Although man can make many things, God has created each of us, every living creature, and the entire expansive universe that is yet to be fully understood or explored.
God should not be supplemental to our lives, but the center. He IS life. He is love. He is our peace. He is our purpose. How grateful should we be that He calls us by name and is our caring Shepherd. He values our lives so much that he will leave 99 sheep behind to rescue us and bring us to safety. Matthew 18:12
The Lord is God! How much thanksgiving is due to Him who gives us breath and life? He is our loving Creator, the source of our strength, our faithful Father, and the One who deserves all our praise!
