Divine Details

‭Matthew 6:30-34 NIV‬
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

How often do we worry about details not determined yet?  And fret about fears never to come to fruition? We ruminate on irrational thoughts and ponder possibilities outside of the present.

But what about focusing on the infinite unexplainable things? How God has brought you through some of life’s strongest storms and has sheltered you under His wings? And how He has kept you safe with His loving protection? And how your very life is a miracle…that you are breathing and walking on the very earth that Jesus did.

Walking around my garden, I spotted this heart shape in the curling tentacles of a squash vine. It was a reminder to me to focus on the details that matter. That God loves me. He cares for me and is working out details I can’t even see.  He unfolds the flowers toward the sun and leaves dewy drops of water for the honey bees to drink. There is so much beauty in the details and in the mystery of the Master who orchestrates it all. He is conducting your symphony. Seek Him. Know Him. He is God over the divine details of your life.
