Coming on the Clouds

There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides across the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty Deuteronomy 33:26 NIV‬

At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.‭ Luke 21:27-28 NIV‬

“Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.‭ Revelation 1:7 NIV‬

When you really look at clouds like the one in the photo above, it is nearly impossible to not be in absolute awe. But to behold what is to come…Jesus riding in on the clouds, returning to redeem us and bring justice to the earth…what an amazing event that will be!

How wrapped up in our worldly worries do we get that we don’t even glimpse at the sky or clouds or think upon heavenly things? The tasks of the day overwhelm us. We get buried in the busy-ness of life. We sink ourselves into social media. We do anything but marvel at the mysteries at work by our God.

Life here is truly temporary and we will experience trouble. But, God knows this earthly life is definitely not paradise. There is a true paradise that awaits every believer. So, while every day may not seem miraculous, there are miracles happenings all around us that we can’t even see. And while here, we have access to an Almighty God who, in Deuteronomy 33:26, “rides across the heavens to help you”.

This God who helps us every hour, who created the beautiful heavens, the stars, the moon, the clouds…will someday traverse the skies and arrive on the very clouds He created just as He promised. May we keep looking up to Him for help, for hope, and keep looking out for His coming on the clouds.
