Eye on Excellence

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

‭‭Philippians 4:8 NIV‬‬

There’s a lot not right in the world and sometimes that’s all we can focus on. The stressful job. The money troubles. The health struggles. The relationship issues. The corrupt leadership. The things we want. The things we don’t want. The hurts we’ve felt. The hand we’ve been dealt.

But…

What about the good, the sparkling snow, the warmth of the sun, the hug from a loved one, a home to come home to, a warm bed to sleep in, and beyond the things that are lovely…

The love of our Father, the grace He provides, that He cares for us so much that He counts the hairs on our heads, has written our stories from beginning to end, loves us so deeply that we can’t fathom the depths.

In His eyes we are cherished, loved, and held from moment to moment. And I want to continually think about how good my God is every day. Be grateful for His graciousness. Focus on His faithfulness.  And keep my eyes on this excellence.
