We've heard the story long been told
Of Jesus’ miraculous birth
Wise men bringing gifts of gold
And frankincense and myrrh
But how was Mary to understand
that things would turn out ok
Or have faith in God's ultimate plan
When challenges plagued the way
She was with child, only just betrothed
And others judged her cruelly
Joseph needed an Angel to show
That her baby was nothing but Holy
The times were tense and very tough
The rulers hated all Jews
Joseph and Mary made a journey so rough
No trip a pregnant woman would choose
Young and without her mother
To guide her through the trials of labor
She had to rely on another…
And that God had promised her favor
She put her faith and trust in God
Who told her to not have fear
But to follow His calling on her life
For the Savior would soon be here!
So Mary followed and let His plan unfold
She put one foot in front of the other
And thus the greatest story ever told
Shows the faith of Jesus’ mother
Let us learn to follow and to trust
Even when not knowing the end
When we face problems we truly must…
Know that God, to us, did send
A Son of God and Son of Man
Who never leaves our side
And just as with Mary long ago
He will always be our Guide!
