Sovereign Strength

Signs of fall – photo by Jill Rushbrook

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV
We know we will have trouble
Life won't be without pain
Uncertainty is certain
But there is truth so plain

That when we are so tired
So weak and full of fear
We have a Savior to cling to
He always is so near

His strength is made more perfect
When we are so weak
He has power to extend us
To the weary, downcast, meek

He cares about your worries
He wants your heart to know
He sees you and he loves you
His power He wants to show

Your life is a testimony
So that others see His hand
The very hand that formed you
Is writing out His plan

He'll see you through this trial
He knows where it will lead
He knows that through the struggle
You are deepening your need…

A need for pure surrender
To the God of power and might
He'll be your guide, by your side
Every day and every night.

So hold on to Jesus
And with his power, have peace
He's always faithful and provides
His wonders never cease.
