Small faith, Big God

Dappled sunlight on forest path – photo by Jill Rushbrook

Your light chases away the shadows

The night becomes as bright as day

Storms are silenced in your presence

With one word, winds and waves obey

Your peace calms the turbulent waters

When the world seems out of control

You tell me to look to you only

In stillness you make me whole

Your love is as vast as the ocean

There is no greater love than yours

You ask that all come and seek you

From your love, all blessings pour.

Your goodness is never ending

You are good, right, and true

You gave your son’s life so we could live

With hope and a heart made new

Your strength is made perfect in weakness

I trust you to carry me through

You have unlimited power

And can tell the mountains to move

Your ways are higher than our ways

And although we may not understand

You keep your promises always

We can have faith in you and your plans

Faith is what you ask for

And faith is all we need

Faith in a God who can do big things

With faith as small as a mustard seed.
